Located in the heart of Duarte province in the Dominican Republic, Öko-Caribe is a true gem among cacao suppliers. With over 50 years of combined experience, owners Adriano de Jesus Rodriguez and Gualberto Acebey Torrejon have perfected their processes to ensure consistently high-quality cacao in their annual production. Öko-Caribe maintains strong relationships with its 165 farmers through technical training, agronomic practices, and organic certifications. Adriano and Gualberto also foster personal connections with each farmer, offering microloans for cacao-related expenses and personal loans for family emergencies or community needs. The loyalty between Öko-Caribe and the farmers is evident not only in their daily interactions but also in the final product, which is of the highest quality and has earned multiple awards.
